"Best Malaysian food in the eastern suburbs. It's where most Malaysians would go, as its as authentic as it gets. Good family atmosphere as well

"I have been to Malaysia a couple of times and I'm a big fan of Malaysian food.
I found this restaurant's food authentic and delicious! The butter coconut prawns are incredible.
Friendly staff and affordable prices too. I couldn't be happier about finding this place in my area!

"Great place for authentic Msian cuisine. Variety of dishes available. Some of our favourites are the fish hot pot with rice wine, belachan kangkung (so good even my kids who dont normally eat kangkung, cleaned up the plate :p), honey chilli chicken, tofu. Disappointed they are not serving popiah for the time being, but looking forward to it being back on the menu!

"Ordered dimsim and duck last weekend. The advertised half duck for a little less than $20, looks more like a quarter duck. Tastes OK, same as other restos. Steamed Dimsim is disgusting! It was dripping water in the container and meat taste like sausage roll meat. Worst thing is the customer service. We ordered a takeaway to avoid crowd. We ordered 30mins via phone, and another 20mins waiting at the entrance, just to get our food paid and all. When we got in to get our food, we were gobsmacked to find that social distancing was not being followed at all. Our food sat in the reception area the whole time as we wait for the receptionist entertain the diners more. Our food was cold and unappetizing when we got home. I understand all businesses are struggling right now, thats why we want to support local businesses. But our experience was just horrible. Takeaways pay the same rate like diners, and they dont acknowledge it the same way! Beware for takeaways. be prepared to wait more time and expect that your order get less prioritized. That was the first time we tried kotajaya, and will not come back again.

"I have always enjoyed coming here, sometimes I wonder if it's a bit lost in the eighties.
The architecture is very Asian restaurant, from the days when you built such specialised buildings. The service is very casual and friendly, the Decor is ... what ever. Nice to see plenty of round tables 😁 great for family and friends.
Now the menu I think will appeal to everyone, my 80+ year old Mum had ... Hahahaha 🤣 honey prawns and special fried rice. While I had a stunning Sichuan eggplant hot pot, truely beautiful. A flavour I cannot hope to replicate at home.
The house wine, I will say was much better than expected. In fact the red was a bit of a $9.76 Woolies yum, rather than a $30 mouth wash from the wholesaler.
All excellent place to go with family and friends. Maybe not purrfect for that romantic interlude 🥰.
